ART 101 #Day26 #Aagaaz

Art isn't limited to paper, pencil, and colors; it goes beyond that. It is a method to express your emotions, thoughts, and feelings. It is also found to be therapeutic by some.

Whether it is painting or sketching here are some tips to get started:

1. Brush Pen Techniques:

You can use them for calligraphy and even for creating bold sketches or posters.

◇ For Calligraphy :

Calligraphy entails faux and real calligraphy.

 ○ For the real kind, the upstrokes are supposed to be very light and put minimal pressure while the downstrokes are supposed to be thicker and firm.

○ For faux, create an outline of the word and then fill it in. You can create minimalistic patterns such as tiny polka dots or sparkles.

◇ Brush pens could also substitute for watercolors.

Method 1: add some pigment in a palette and then add a drop or two of water and start using it like watercolor.

Method 2: fill the area using a brush pen lightly. Take a brush, dip it in a bowl of water, dab it on a tissue paper to remove the excess, and then you can start painting!

2. Creating a Mandala:

To create a perfectly symmetrical mandala-

1. Use a compass to draw a circle.

2. Using a protractor, create the divisions. If you want more number divisions, you can use a gap of 10 or 20 degrees. For a fewer number of divisions, you can use a gap of 40 degrees.

Special Note: To get the best results - keep experimenting!

3.  Oil Pastel Techniques:

The most prominent feature of oil pastels to me is their bright color. They make the simplest of drawings or sketches come to life.

◇  For mixing them well: First, fill a portion of the figure with the darker color and then add the lighter one where it ends. This helps in ensuring even blending of the colors. You can also use a swab of cotton for this purpose.

◇ Outlining: Many people are faced with a dilemma when it comes to outlining a drawing made with oil pastels. Here's the solution! Create a pencil drawing, fill it in with the oil pastels. Use an 8-B pencil to outline. That'll give your artwork a rich, bold outline!

Over the years, I realized one crucial thing that I'd like to share. The quality of your art isn't solely dependent on the products that you use but your creativity. It is only to a small extent that the brand of watercolors or brush pens you use matters, primarily it is your skill and creativity that will enable you to create an artistic masterpiece.
