How To Turn Hopeless Times Into The Most Productive Ones - A Beginner's Guide
You switch on your phone and in what takes nothing more than a second, you get to witness a series of headlines - nothing but filled with the words 'pandemic', 'coronavirus', 'death toll', etc. etc. In such trying times, finding the motivation to work isn't something anyone would expect you to do. However, believe it or not, life has to go on, with or without the pandemic. (Pun intended)
Here's a list of things which you can try to transform your days of gloom to your days of glory.
(1) Find a hobby
Disclaimer: This writer is not very fond of clichès but has to include a few for the sake of formality and authenticity. :P
For the most of us who use social media, having a hobby might seem to be a daunting task considering everyone is flexing their cookery and oil painting skills on their stories and posts. But to clear the myth out, here's the real thing - a hobby can be as simple as reading answers on quora or doodling. This would help in keeping you focused and engaged for a considerable part of the day. If nothing, you will at least feel happier to have done something rather than laying on your bed all day and daydreaming all your what if's.

(2) Do not feel pressured to be productive.
Some days all we feel like doing is pushing around things and procrastinating beyond limits. Fortunately and unfortunately this unusual and once-in-a-lifetime situation has made us more or less independent of deadlines and to-do lists. Since before this, we only knew our way around with deadlines dancing around our heads, such indefinite times have made our routines go much more haywire than ever before. But with all of such thoughts of you just passing time around and feeling unproductive, say to yourself -- it's okay once in a while.
It's OKAY to not feel like studying and it's OKAY to binge on your favourite shows once in a while.

(3) Set a goal for yourself
The major reason of us not finding the will power to do anything right now is the lack of purpose. We have been losing out on the reasons and benefits of our tasks and so to save you here comes goals. However, make sure you don't commit the mistake of setting goals which you won't be able to fulfill eventually. Start with small things like setting goals to improve your writing or sketching skills by the end of the month.

(4)Reconnect with your family and friends
A lot of us think that reconnecting solely means catching up with your long lost friends whom you haven't talked to in ages. However this isn't the only case.
Reconnecting with your parents who you can barely give time to otherwise in the super hectic life that you usually have is something which should be high up in your priority list right now. Having the most carefree conversations with your best friend over the phone and video call is something which can be super exciting and productive.
And yes! Before you have any second thoughts, balancing your personal life also counts in your overall productivity. So no, you are not wasting any time there.

(5) Be well groomed and organize yourself.
The awfully dirty shelf that you have been dreading to clean for weeks -- now is the time to clean it. Research has proven that cleaning and organizing things can be a relaxing activity for the brain. "But...all of that might seem easy to put into words" is what you must be thinking. Let's admit it - almost nobody (except Monica -- ignore if you aren't a F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan but you are missing out on one classic show!) has a genuine fondness for cleaning.

So to make this fun, put on some music, video call your friends and let the cleaning party be on!

Bonus Point : Always remind yourself that we all will get through this. Feel gratitude for being safe in your homes and thank those bravehearts in every possible way who go out and are endangering their lives everyday to save yours.
